Himeji Castle is a Japanese castle. Located in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. Buildings such as the main keep (Japanese: 天守, Hepburn: Tenshu) and the turret (Japanese:櫓, Hepburn: Yagura) built in the early Edo period still exist. This castle was registered in 1993 as one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Japan.
