This is a vintage Japanese teacup (yunomi) from a sushi restaurant called “Sushi Aikawa”.
We found it at To-ji Temple’s antique market in Kyoto, a special place to discover rare items from Japan’s past.
The cup is decorated with the restaurant name written in big, flowing blue characters. On the side, there’s an old-style Japanese phone number — another sign that this cup was used in the Showa era (1926–1989).
The soft beige bands at the top and bottom resemble bamboo, giving the cup a warm, traditional look. The shape is slightly curved, fitting nicely in your hand.
This kind of cup was used daily in sushi restaurants — strong, simple, and filled with personality. Now, it’s a fun item for people who love vintage design, Japanese food culture, or retro typography.
🛍️ This is a one-of-a-kind item — once it’s gone, it’s gone.
