These two cups are a bit mysterious — and that’s part of what makes them so fun.
We found them at To-ji Temple’s antique market in Kyoto, a place full of treasures from Japan’s past.
The shape looks a little like a wine glass or small goblet, which is unusual for Japanese cups. No one knows for sure why they were made this way, but they might have been used for serving tea or sake in a stylish way, or perhaps influenced by Western designs during the Showa era.
The hand-painted blue floral patterns are soft and elegant, with a slightly different design on each cup. The base is tall and graceful, giving the cups a nice balance between traditional and modern.
They’re perfect for someone who enjoys mixing cultures, loves Japanese ceramics, or wants something truly unique on their shelf or table.
🛍️ This is a one-of-a-kind item — once it’s gone, it’s gone.
