There’s something timeless about the silhouette of a samurai helmet — and this piece captures that spirit with elegance and pride.

NOTE: IT IS NOT FULL SIZED SAMURAI HELMET

We discovered this decorative kabuto at To-ji Temple’s antique market (東寺ガラクタ市 To-ji Garakuta Ichi) in Kyoto — one of Japan’s oldest and most beloved open-air flea markets.
While the exact production date of this helmet is uncertain, based on its materials and craftsmanship, we believe it was made sometime between the late Edo period (mid-1800s) and the mid-Meiji era (late 1800s).

The golden horns (kuwagata) symbolize strength, while the lions engraved on the side plates represent protection and nobility. Though not functional armor, such helmets were traditionally displayed in homes during Children’s Day (May 5th) to celebrate courage and growth.

This piece rests on a gold-threaded brocade cushion and brings quiet strength and refined beauty to any space — be it a shelf, entryway, or personal collection.

🛍️ This is a one-of-a-kind item — once it’s gone, it’s gone.
